Mr. Moss has worked as a housing & community development, redevelopment, and disaster recovery professional for the past 15 plus years. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University and Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management from Florida Atlantic University. In his professional capacity he has held multiple position including Community Redevelopment Director, Housing & Community Development Director, and Community Development Director. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the National & Florida Community Development Associations and is the former Chair of the South Florida Community Land Trust.
Giovanni has extensive experience working with Federal, State, and TIF funded programs. This experience includes the comprehensive management of redevelopment initiatives, economic development programs, a myriad of disaster recovery programs, and large-scale capital improvement projects. He is a proud graduate of the Florida Redevelopment Association Academy and a certified CDBG practitioner with extensive experience in administering and ensuring compliance of federal disaster recovery funds.
During his career, Mr. Moss has directly managed over 120 million in CDBG-DR recovery funds, over 40 million in federal (CDBG, NSP, HOME) funds and $30+ million in annual CRA operating and capital budgets. As a CRA Director, he negotiated and secured over $100 million in private development investment in three (3) years and managed extensive capital infrastructure projects.
He currently holds the position of Project Manager with Innovative Emergency Management and works as a subject expert to the State Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).
