Salary Range: $110,000-$139,900 dependent on experience

This is highly professional and administrative work serving as Assistant City Administrator – Community Development for the City of Pensacola. Under the supervision of the City Administrator and within the framework of established City policies, this position serves as a senior advisor to the Mayor in a wide variety of urban design, land development, sustainable, low impact development, administrative and policy areas with significant latitude for independent and mature judgment and action. The position assists in the development of strategic policy priorities and leads mayoral initiatives within an assigned portfolio. This position is a Mayoral appointment and serves at the pleasure of the Mayor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, earth sciences, political science, public administration, business administration or related field is desired with a Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Six (6) or more years of government or public service experience. Experience working for an elected official at the federal, state, or local level (preferred) or as a public or private sector senior manager.
  • In place of the above requirements, the incumbent may possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual’s knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed below.
