Location: Office of Economic and Small Business Development-Broward County Government (Ft. Lauderdale)

Description: The Office of Economic and Small Business Development is seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional organizational, communication and presentation skills to be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of a countywide apprenticeship initiative. The primary function of this position is the development and maintenance of relationships with Broward County non-profit organizations, service providers, local business and industry groups, municipalities and educational entities with the goal of aligning apprenticeship opportunities with employment needs, particularly in disadvantaged communities.

The successful applicant will exercise a considerable amount of initiative and independent judgment, must have strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships with stakeholders, internal and external apprenticeship partners and industry partners. The selected applicant will partner with the Human Resources Division and other internal County agencies to create apprenticeship/training opportunities within the organization. Additionally, the individual will report periodically on progress made in aligning workforce needs with apprenticeship/training programs as part of Broward County’s larger economic development effort.

Salary Range: $64,568.64-$103,051.50

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business or Public Administration or closely related field. (Or any equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.)

Requires four (4) years of experience managing special projects, programs or business operations in the areas of community outreach, economic development, or apprenticeship programs and building collaborative relationships between education, business, and industry partners.
