DESCRIPTION

This is a responsible professional position, equally focused on outward facing contact with the public and business community to develop and manage, a business retention program and strategies to enhance City-wide economic development and redevelopment activities as well as managing the branding, marketing and communications for the division.  The position requires research, analytics, and developing business content for the web, social media, and collateral materials.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications:  Qualified applicants must have graduated from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in business, marketing, public administration, economics, or a related field; must possess, at the time of application, and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License; must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs, including FrontPage and Publisher; must have excellent writing and computer graphics skills; and must have the ability to maintain and create web and social media for the department.  Desirable Qualifications:  Preferred applicants have progressively responsible experience in economic development, small business, entrepreneurship, marketing and social media; possess a Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; have considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of economic development, marketing and business organizations; are able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; and are able to competently develop and present engaging, detailed presentations in front of large groups of people.
