Planner II/Project Administrator: This is advanced professional work managing and coordinating a range of both short and long term park planning; oversight and management of park construction projects and associated permitapplications and contracts; and, the development and oversight of community outreach/education and park-related policy initiatives. Works closely with management and other units throughout the enterprise on various park projects and coordinates on other County-wide initiatives. Significant responsibility associatedwith developing and providing various forms of communications, including technical reports, publicoutreach/education, and answering public /press inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Planning (urban,regional, environmental, natural resource or park), Recreation, Landscape Architecture, or related field andfour (4) years of related professional planning experience. A Master’s Degree from an accredited college oruniversity in an appropriate field can substitute for one year of professional experience. Planning experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: One year working experience with management of park capital improvement projects; AICP certification; knowledge of local flora, fauna, and habitats and their protection; familiarity with State and local development regulations for park projects.
